What is GBIS?
The Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS) is a UK government scheme to deliver energy efficiency upgrades in homes in Great Britain. It is a replacement for ECO+ and is administered by Ofgem. is expected to run until March 2026.
Through GBIS, you can get free or cheaper insulation in your home. Unlike ECO4, GBIS focuses on installing a single retrofit insulation, like in the loft or cavity wall, rather than throughout the whole house.
Who Qualifies for GBIS?
Households with an EPC rating of D or lower are eligible for the Great British Insulation Scheme. MPC Energy can install insulation under GBIS for council tax bands A-E in Scotland.
How Can I Apply for GBIS?
Applications for GBIS will be carried out by MPC Energy on behalf of the customer, to save you the time and hassle. This application is free of charge to each of our customers, and we’ll let you know if we’re able to install partially subsidised or completely free insulation under GBIS.
