Local Authority Flexible Eligibility

What is LA Flex?

LA Flex, also known as Local Authority Flexible Eligibility, is another branch of ECO funding that helps homeowners or private tenants with the installation of home energy efficiency measures. Under ECO4 Flex, a participating Local Authority (LA), can refer private tenure households that it considers to be living in fuel poverty or on a low income and vulnerable to the effects of living in a cold home.

How LA Flex is different from the ECO scheme is down to the criteria required to obtain the funding and application process. LA Flex allows for more funding given to Local Authorities to identify those who fall short of the eligibility for the ECO scheme but would benefit from added insulation or heating measures.

How to apply?

Each Local Authority has published their own ECO4 Statement of Intent, which provides information regarding qualifying criteria and application process. This allows the LA to design their own eligibility criteria for the funding to match the needs of their local residents: age, health conditions, income levels, vulnerable occupiers etc.

Applications for LA Flex will be carried out by MPC Energy on behalf of the customer, to save you the time and hassle. Once we have completed your application, your Local Authority will provide us with a Declaration to confirm we are able to proceed with installing the energy efficient measures.

This application is free of charge to each of our customers.
